Frontline Situation: Defense by the 7th Air Assault Corps

The 7th Air Assault Corps continues to hold its designated defensive lines, maintaining full control over its sector of the front. Ukrainian defenders demonstrate high resilience and flexibility despite increased enemy activity and changes in enemy tactics.

Recently, Russian command has redeployed marine infantry units with significant combat experience to the Pokrovsk area. The enemy is attempting to operate in small groups, infiltrating deeper into urban areas while avoiding direct contact with forward Ukrainian positions. This tactic aims to get as close as possible to the positions of Ukrainian drone operators and mortar crews in an effort to disperse defensive forces.

At the same time, the enemy has intensified activity on the flanks, employing armored vehicles and motorcycles. The objective is to cut logistical supply routes and create conditions for the encirclement of the Pokrovsk agglomeration. These directions currently remain the most tense; however, Ukrainian units continue to effectively counter such attempts.

Another notable trend in recent weeks has been a decrease in the intensity of air strikes on frontline (“zero line”) positions, while attacks on civilian infrastructure in the rear have increased significantly. As of August, nearly the entire residential area of Pokrovsk has been damaged, indicating the deliberate destruction of the city by the occupiers.

“Our resilience is the enemy’s greatest fear.
We will not allow them to entrench themselves where a Ukrainian soldier stands.”

According to intelligence, Russia is preparing a so-called “decisive breakthrough” in Donetsk Oblast, relying on the use of large numbers of personnel and equipment. The enemy’s ultimate objective remains unchanged: to establish control over the Pokrovsk–Kramatorsk–Sloviansk agglomeration, which holds key strategic importance for the continuation of the war.

Understanding these plans, the 7th Air Assault Corps continues to adapt its tactics, strengthen its logistics system, and block the enemy along designated defensive lines. Ukrainian units are employing all available forces and means to destroy enemy personnel and equipment, demonstrating their readiness to hold the defense for as long as necessary.
