Junior Lieutenant Yakiv Syniakov, Chief Chaplain of the 7th Rapid Response Corps of the Air Assault Forces, took part in the 1st International Jewish Military Chaplains Conference (IJMCC) in Berlin, held under the auspices of NATO structures. He served as the official representative of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and is the only Jewish military chaplain in the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Ukraine’s participation in the conference highlights the country’s growing role in the international community and the importance of developing military chaplaincy during wartime.
The conference addressed the following topics:
- spiritual support for service members;
- the role of religious communities in strengthening the moral resilience of the armed forces;
- international cooperation and enhanced collaboration among countries.
The event provided an opportunity to present Ukraine’s chaplaincy experience, establish communication with colleagues from NATO countries and Israel, and inform international partners about the activities of the 7th Air Assault Forces Corps.
The conference was organized with the support of the Military Chaplaincy Service of Ukraine and international partners involved in developing chaplaincy services in NATO partner countries.
