Commander of the 7th Air Assault Corps: The war has entered a new phase

21/12/2025 14:53

The Pokrovsk agglomeration has remained one of the most intense hotspots along the front line for several months. Russian troops are attempting to weaken Ukrainian defenses, force maneuver battles, and create a flanking threat to the Ukrainian Defense Forces’ positions.

The change in enemy tactics was described by the commander of the 7th Air Assault Corps, Brigadier General Yevhen Lasiichuk, in a new interview with NV. According to him, nearly a month ago, the enemy shifted from infiltration tactics in Pokrovsk to mechanized assaults on the city, and now employs continuous infantry attacks.

At the same time, the Defense Forces are responding to the enemy’s changing tactics.

“The enemy has already deployed the Pskov 76th Air Assault Division on our front line. Some enemy units that were planning to move toward Zaporizhzhia have also been redirected to Pokrovsk. We expect that by the New Year the enemy will attempt to strengthen the offensive and carry out active assaults, including mechanized ones,” — said the corps commander.

Details on how Pokrovsk’s defense is organized, what limits logistics to the entire agglomeration, and the current nature of enemy attacks can be found in the full interview with Brigadier General Yevhen Lasiichuk, commander of the 7th Air Assault Corps.
