Brigadier General Yevhen Lasiichuk, commander of the 7th Rapid Response Corps of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces, spoke in a blitz interview with NV about the measures taken by the Defense Forces to repel the Russian offensive on Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad. These two cities have become the Kremlin’s primary targets this fall.
According to the general, Russian command planned to capture Pokrovsk before September, but fighting in the city continues even at the end of November. The enemy is suffering significant losses and is forced to replenish personnel from reserves. The operational reserve of the “Center” grouping — units of Russia’s 76th Air Assault Division — has already been deployed, indicating serious problems for the enemy.
The 7th Corps commander also discussed the situation in Pokrovsk and the surrounding area, logistics and support for Ukrainian troops, counter-drone measures, the units involved in defense, their tasks, and the coordination of large-scale forces. He specifically explained the steps being taken to regain full control of the city.
