7th Air Assault Corps and Ukrainian Council of Gunsmiths Hold Joint “Mil Tech Innovations” Forum
During the event, manufacturers showcased their products and established direct communication with airborne troops of the Corps. The forum also featured panel discussions on the synergy between UAVs and electronic warfare systems, the development of effective feedback mechanisms, and the challenges of employing unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs).
The 7th Air Assault Corps became the first command-level formation within Ukraine’s Defense Forces to host such an event in partnership with the Ukrainian Council of Gunsmiths.
Among the forum’s participants were representatives of the Air Assault Forces Command, the Logistics Forces Command, leaders responsible for UAV, EW, and air defense capabilities, commanders of unmanned systems battalions, as well as representatives of R&D teams and workshops from all units of the 7th Air Assault Corps.
“The most valuable feedback for manufacturers today comes directly from the battlefield. Producers must understand the real needs of military units: what works, what requires improvement, and what can already be scaled up. It is through this direct interaction between the military and industry that solutions providing a battlefield advantage are created. I would like to thank Brigadier General Yevhen Lasiychuk for initiating such an important event,” said Oleksandr Kamyshin, Chairman of the Ukrainian Council of Gunsmiths and Advisor to the President of Ukraine on Strategic Affairs.
At the same time, Major Denys Poliachenko, Head of the Unmanned Systems Directorate of the 7th Air Assault Corps, emphasized that the Corps’ brigades had already been cooperating with mil-tech companies at the unit level. However, the corps-level framework enables innovations to be implemented and scaled more effectively across the battlefield.
“We rapidly introduce innovations through our own R&D centers, repair workshops, and close cooperation with developers,” he added.
The forum’s key outcome was the establishment of direct dialogue between military personnel and manufacturers, paving the way for more weapons, advanced technologies, and refined solutions for the units of the 7th Air Assault Corps.
