78th Separate Air Assault Regiment of the 7th Air Assault Corps Expanded into a Brigade
The 78th Separate Air Assault Regiment was formed in the first days of the full-scale invasion. Over time, the unit developed into a fully-fledged brigade of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The core of the unit was composed of servicemen who, from the very first days, stood to defend the country and carried out combat missions in the most challenging areas.
This summer, as part of the corps reform, the regiment joined the 7th Rapid Response Corps of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This became an important stage in its further development.
In December 2025, the 78th Separate Air Assault Regiment opened a new chapter in its history — the unit was officially reorganized into the 78th Separate Air Assault Brigade.
“This is a confirmation of the combat maturity and the capability of the unit to operate as a coordinated strike force. It recognizes the level of training, experience, and effectiveness of the personnel, capable of performing the most complex tasks. The foundation of this achievement is the character of the warriors, their endurance, and their responsibility for defending Ukraine,”
